The Senior Programme Manager role is responsible for leading complex, high-impact transformation programmes and portfolios. This is a senior delivery leadership position with accountability for defining the overarching programme and portfolio delivery strategy, establishing governance and control frameworks, and driving predictable outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and benefits. The role provides direction across multiple workstreams and Programme/Project Managers, ensuring delivery remains aligned to strategic objectives and that dependencies and delivery risks are proactively managed.
As a core member of KPMG customer delivery leadership, the Senior Programme Manager is accountable for programme mobilisation, integrated planning, executive stakeholder management, and senior governance outcomes. Responsibilities include leading the programme governance cadence, including Steering Committee forums, owning the consolidated RAID, dependencies and financial position, and taking senior accountability for change control, benefits tracking, and escalation management. The role directs the day-to-day coordination of blended onshore and offshore delivery teams through project and workstream leads and provides coaching and oversight to Programme Managers (B1), Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers to ensure consistent standards, quality, and reporting across the programme.
This role is a key part of KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions’ delivery leadership capability and is expected to set the standard for how complex programmes are governed, reported, and executed. The position acts as a senior escalation point for delivery risk and performance and supports the continuous improvement of delivery methods, governance, and assurance across the practice. The role contributes to a rapidly growing business area within an established and market-leading global Big 4 firm.

Experience and Background
- 10+ years leading complex, multi‑workstream or enterprise‑level programmes.
- Extensive experience leading high‑impact, cross‑functional, or transformational programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to design, evolve, and optimise governance frameworks at organisational scale.
- Experience leading senior stakeholders, programme managers, and multi‑disciplinary teams across the organisation.
- Highly experienced in Waterfall and Agile project management, ideally with direct experience and knowledge of tools including Azure DevOps, Jira, VSTS, TFS, and of methodologies including Scrum and Kanban;
- Ideally experience and specialism in ERP and / or CRM implementation projects, preferably utilising the Microsoft stack;
- Skilled in shaping programme vision, anticipating organisational needs, and influencing strategic direction.
- Expertise in designing KPI frameworks, interpreting performance trends, and leading root‑cause corrective initiatives.
- Advanced capability in assessing systemic risks, forecasting emerging issues, and driving proactive mitigation.
- Experience overseeing financial strategy, investment planning, and portfolio‑level financial decisions.
- Expertise in shaping benefits strategies, aligning them with investment cases, and ensuring long‑term sustainability.
- Advises on delivery models, risk profiles, and strategic considerations during commercial engagements.
