The Assistant Project Support Officer (D1) role supports delivery teams in the day-to-day management of project governance, reporting, planning, and coordination across client engagements. The position takes a hands-on approach to maintaining core project controls, including plans, RAID logs, actions, milestones, and financial and resource trackers, while contributing to the timely preparation of governance materials and stakeholder communications.

The Assistant Project Support Officer is a core member of the KPMG customer delivery team, supporting Project Managers and Project Support Officers to ensure accurate project information, consistent governance routines, and clear status reporting. The role works with both onshore and offshore delivery teams to coordinate activities, track dependencies, and support the effective escalation of risks and issues.

This role is an important element of KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions’ delivery capability, helping to strengthen delivery governance and improve transparency across programme and project outcomes. The position includes a combination of on-the-job coaching and structured training, working with more senior colleagues to build capability in project delivery, reporting, and stakeholder management. The role contributes to a rapidly growing business area within an established and market-leading global Big 4 firm.

Main Responsibilities

Project Responsibilities

  • Ensures project documentation aligns with project objectives and supports PM/PSO in maintaining delivery alignment.
  • Prepares structured data summaries to support PSO/PM decision‑making.
  • Maintains KPI logs, supports basic analysis, and highlights variances to PSO/PM.
  • Maintains project schedules, updates dependencies, and supports PSO in roadmap maintenance.
  • Supports milestone tracking, prepares governance packs, and ensures documentation completeness.
  • Produces clear, concise updates for PSO/PM and governance forums.
  • Produces structured status report inputs and highlights emerging issues.
  • Supports trend analysis by preparing data and highlights for PSO/PM review.
  • Supports stakeholder communication under direction of PSO/PM.
  • Maintains resource utilisation records and escalates gaps to PSO/PM.
  • Maintains financial trackers, supports forecasting, and highlights variances.
  • Ensures compliance with delivery standards and supports process improvement.
  • Tracks KPIs, monitors corrective actions, and supports PSO/PM in performance reviews.
  • Tracks benefit‑related deliverables and supports transition to operations. 
  • Ensures project activities comply with policies and supports audit readiness.
  • Coordinates team activities and supports onboarding of new team members.
  • Supports quality reviews and ensures deliverables meet project expectations.
  • Supports estimation, planning inputs, and preparation of delivery documentation for pre‑sales.
  • Provide on-site support as required by company or client

  • Provides guidance to Graduate Administrators and supports team coordination.
  • Supports planning, estimation, and delivery inputs for pre‑sales engagements.
  • Applies organisational processes and templates.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal processes and mandatory training
  • Carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by senior members.
  • Willing to travel abroad when required.
  • Provide on-site support as required by company or client.

Experience and Background

  • 1–2+ years in administrative or project support roles.
  • Experience supporting project delivery cycles.
  • Basic understanding of project governance and documentation.
  • Experience coordinating basic tasks across teams.
  • Able to understand project objectives and tasks.
  • Experience supporting project delivery cycles.
  • Able to maintain risk/issue logs.
  • Supports financial tracking activities.
  • Basic understanding of the organisation’s domain and delivery environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in business administration or a related field will be considered an asset. 
  • Solid understanding in Agile project management, ideally with experience and knowledge of tools including Azure DevOps, and of methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to assist in the production of high quality and professional presentations.
  • Supports stakeholder communication and meeting coordination.
